Government Programs for Ranchers
High school and post-secondary students can apply for bursaries, scholarships and grants through the Cattlemen’s Martin Riedemann Society.
The society administers a charity created to support education and research on behalf of the ranching industry. The charity, established in 2015, honours Martin Riedemann of Alkali Lake Ranch who passed away in a boating accident at the lake in 1975. At the time, he was the vice president of the BCCA.
Anyone can support the registered charity in its mission to provide education awards by donating.
The BC Cattlemen's Association will provide bursary, scholarship and grant winners with a one-year subscription to our industry magazine Beef in BC to promote interest and understanding of the province’s beef industry.
Multiple bursaries and scholarships are available to high school students who can show financial need and wish to further their studies at a recognized post-secondary institution.
The deadline for all bursaries and scholarships is March 1 of every year.
