The BC Cattlemen's Association is pleased to offer cattle producers of BC the Farmland - Riparian Interface Stewardship Program (FRISP).
PROGRAM OUTLINE FRISP is designed to help provincial agriculture producers to protect and enhance water quality, to protect and enhance riparian vegetation, and prevent and mitigate agricultural impacts on streams and lakes. This will be accomplished by:
FUNDING Since 2004, many partners have contributed to the FRISP program including: Northern Transboundary Fisheries Commission, Fraser Basin Council, Pacific Salmon Foundation - Living Rivers Strategy, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands. During 2009-20, funding came from the Ministry of Agriculture & Lands, matched with $70,000 from Fraser Salmon Watershed Program and $2,500 from the Regional District of Central Okanagan for a special restoriation project.
The BC Cattlemen's Association continues to seek funding to extend this valuable stewardship and enhancement program.
