The result of a collaborative effort by Canada’s national and provincial beef sector organizations, the strategy is about how organizations can work together to best position the beef industry for greater profitability, growth and continued production of a high quality beef product of choice in the world.

National Beef Strategy launches videos
The National Beef Strategy is all about a new way of doing business. Officially unveiled on January 7, the National Beef Strategy calls for a transformative change in how industry meets the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead with the goal to benefit all sectors of the industry.
A series of videos has been produced to provide industry stakeholders and producers insight into what the new strategy is all about.

BC Government Announces new water pricing structure
Yesterday, the BC government announced changes to water pricing as part of the Water Sustainability Act review.
The provincial government is taking steps to ensure British Columbia’s water resources will be safely and effectively managed for generations. To support B.C.’s modernized water legislation a new fee and rental schedule for users is being introduced.

BC Cattlemen's Association education awards - $18,000 up for grabs
The BC Cattlemen’s Association is pleased to continue to help students from rural areas further their education after graduation. The BCCA directors have long been involved in delivering a variety of bursaries to worthy students, and this year the total available is $18,000.

Species at Risk Partnerships on Agricultural Land
Environment Canada is working with the B.C. Cattlemen’s Association and ARDCorp on a new initiative called “Species At Risk Partnerships on Agricultural Land” (SARPAL). Since many of the species at risk are found on agricultural land, Environment Canada would like to partner with producers to develop habitat conservation approaches that benefit both the farmers and the species.
