As part of the CCIA's Canadian Livestock Tracking System (CLTS), a National Premises Identification Look-up has been developed to assist producers in managing their Premises ID's. Producers wishing to register their animals with the CLTS are required to have a provincially-generated Premises ID#.
STEP 1: determine if you have a valid BC Premises ID (BC PID) in the National Premises ID Look-up. There are three possible answers:
VALID - no changes required
CONDITIONAL - you may need to register for a BC PID. Call the BC Ministry of Ag @ 1-888-221-7141 or email.
INVALID - registration for a BC PID is required.

STEP 2:
Once you receive your BC PID (process may take up to 4 weeks), you will need to link it with your CLTS Account ID (issued by CCIA).
