Course Descriptions
This workshop intends to improve understanding of plant growth, grazing rotation, sound rangeland management practices and how these principles can improve your ranch profitability. It is our intent to provide an overview of the multiple uses of rangelands and highlight the need for ranchers to interface with all other users of the land base. In addition, ranchers may have the opportunity to increase the value of production off their private and Crown range through the implementation of the tools presented in our workshops. Topics covered: Rangeland Plant Growth, Time & Timing of Grazing, Range Nutrition & Animal Behaviour. Next workshops: November 2010 -- Workshop in Taylor, Houston & Quenel. Dates are being finalized.

This full day workshop is targeted at building producers capacity to take to the field what they learned in the Rangeland Management Workshop - Principles of Rangeland Management. The morning session will be held in a classroom setting reviewing key aspects of plant growth and time and timing of grazing as well as introducing the concept of the Grazing Response Index (GRI). The afternoon portion of the workshop will be spent in the field putting the GRI into practice. Next workshops: Summer 2011 -- Dates & Locations not yet finalized.
